In 2008 while visiting the the museums in of England, Wales, Brussels and Amsterdam Holland I visited the wonderful Museum named the Victoria and Albert (known as the V&A to locals) that is located in London. I was very much moved by a this terracotta Statue made by Almc-Jules Dalou in 1873.I loved the tender subject and decided to bring it to life in a painting. As you might expect that there were problems in imagining the skin color and lighting but it was a wonderful experience. I depicted her in a European village setting.

As always I have not been able to capture the essence and feel of the painting with a photograph,
