Painting shown is my interpretation of William Waterhouse's original painted in 1884 titled Saint Eulalia.

St Eulalia of Merida was 14 when she was crucified in public during the Roman Diocletian persecutions. She confessed to being a Christen and was tortured and hung on a cross to die. The Romans compounded the humiliation of their ccrucifixion by not allowing the loved ones to bury the body.
In Nov of 08 I viewed the original in the Tate Museum in London and found that my painting that was copied from a picture in a art book was close to being a faithful copy; a few changes in the coloring of garments and snow will make the painting an acceptable copy.
